Visitors have a choice of routes to the Frangipani Lodge
You need to get to Hungama village which lies 215 k.m from Colombo on the Colombo to Tissamaharama road.
The Coastal Route – Longer, more conjested but very interesting and picturesque. Getting there along the coastal road will take you past the historic cities of Galle and Matara and on past Dikwella and Tangalle to Ranna. Once past Ranna, the road to Kalametiya is on the right just after the 214 k.m post. It is clearly sign posted. The Inland Route – Shorter, easier drive on an excellent surface with a good view of rural Sri Lanka.
This route takes you through Avissawella and Ratnapura to Pelmadulla where you take the right fork. Proceed to Embilipitiya and onto Nonagama at which point you turn right towards Tangalle. Hungama is 4 k.m. from Nonagama and must be passed to reach the Kalametiya turn off which is on the left, clearly sign posted just before the 214 k.m post |
